Bermuda Island Weddings

Bermuda, the "Jewel of the Atlantic," lies less than two hours flight from the east coast of the United States making travel for your guests simple and convenient... Incomparable weather, pink sand beaches, a breadth of historic sites and golf galore are all reasons why Condé Nast Traveler readers have voted Bermuda "Best Island in the Caribbean/Atlantic" 16 times since 1994.

Exchange your vows on a coral pink sandy beach, from the top of a breathtaking cliff, aboard a sail boat, in an historic church or in a lush, tropical garden. The choice is yours. Stroll hand-in-hand along the water's edge or drink in a stunning sunset from the deck of a luxury yacht and you'll soon discover why Bermuda is consistently rated one of the world's top wedding destinations.

This rich little oasis of pink-sand beaches and sparkling blue waters is simultaneously slightly British, slightly American, and very Bermudian. Whether you've come to unwind on Elbow Beach, shop among the pretty pastels and whites of historic Hamilton, or discover 400 years of history at Fort St. Catherine in St. George, you'll discover a pleasant mix of formal British culture dressed in a pair of Bermuda shorts.

From shipwrecks and African drum beats to military bases and those famous shorts, the island's culture is a rich fusion of British colonial history and African heritage unlike anything else in the world.

As Britain's oldest colony, its influence continues to dominate government, educational and legal institutions. One may spot a Bermudian judge walking through the capital of Hamilton in a powdered wig, see a bobby directing traffic or overhear a passionate conversation about a local cricket match.

African influences, while subtler, can be found in dance and music, especially reggae, calypso and the rhythm of the Gombeys–magnificent dancing and drumming troupes that often take to the streets.
